Hiking Routes in the Izta-Popo National Park

You can choose between different walking routes within the Izta-Popo National Park depending on your level. If you are a beginner and what you want is a light walk route choose the route Llano Grande to the slopes of the Izta where you can contemplate at a moderate pace the flora and fauna of the place.

If what you are interested in are the half-mountain hiking routes you can choose the route to the gorge of Nexpayantla where we will walk through forest and trails or the La Joya route if You are looking for a long journey. We also have high mountain hiking trails on top of Iztaccihuatl , this route is recommended for people with previous experience in mountaineering.

It depends on the time of the year but generally these walking routes are made in low temperature climates so it is necessary that you dress with thermal clothes or with several layers of clothes, Scarf, gloves and closed shoes that are not made of fabric. Don't forget to use sunscreen.
