Description of 2-day kayaking adventure in the Lacandona Jungle
We invite you to live an adventure in the Selva Lacandona in the state of Chiapas. This is a two day tour where you will enjoy kayaking and visiting the spectacular Lagunas de Montebello National Park and the incredible El Chiflón waterfall, known as Velo de bride.
We will also visit Blue Mountains which is the Biosphere Reserve with the greatest biodiversity in Mexico, we will go through it in kayaks through the Lacantun River.
The first day we will leave from San Cristóbal de las Casas towards the impressive El Chiflón waterfall to enjoy its 70-meter drop, then we will visit the majestic Montebello Lagoons, the beauty of this place will surprise you. At the end of this tour we will go to the Lacantun River Camp to rest and spend the night lulled by a choir of howler monkeys. On this day we include lunch and dinner.
The next day we will carry out the adventure in kayak where you can sail for 4 hours, in a part of the route we will enter the jungle to eat a rich lunch surrounded by beautiful vegetation. The kayak tour ends in the town of Loma Bonita where we will eat and take the road back to San Cristóbal de las Casas, the estimated time of return is at 9:00 pm. On this second day we include breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We recommend that you bring a bathing suit, towel, sandals, flashlight, comfortable shoes for the walk considering that they can get wet, cap or hat, biodegradable sunscreen, and ecological mosquito repellent. and if you come in the rainy season a raincoat.
Bring cash with you and as it is a rural area you will not find ATMs and card payment is zero. The internet and cell phone signal is very low.
