The cenotes are pools of crystalline waters that feed on rain and underground rivers in the area, there are thousands of cenotes distributed between the states of Yucatan and Quintana Roo. The beauty of the cenotes consists of the stalactites and stalagmites formations inside them, formations that have been made throughout the centuries and that today give us a unparalleled visual spectacle. Cenotes were sacred places for the Mayans and they used them to communicate with the gods. They also believed that they were the gateway to the underworld.

On the other hand, the light that enters the cenotes is very particular, since the sun's rays penetrate through the cracks or through holes in the ceiling, allowing the bottom of the cenotes to be seen thanks to their clear waters.
