Description of Visit to Akumal and snorkel with turtles and in a cenote
Excursion to Akumal with snorkeling that lasts about 4 hours, just under half a day, in which our guides will take us to authentic landscapes natural in the Riviera Maya. On this tour you will be able to see sea turtles up close in their natural habitat.
Leaving from Playa del Carmen, we headed to a Cenote in the Mayan jungle to make our first stop. We have chosen the Xibalbá Park for this expedition because it was of great importance in the ancient Mayan civilization since the cenotes are considered sacred places by the Mayans due to the mysticism that He locks himself in his caves. The priests, heads of the communities, celebrated rituals in these places where you canswim and snorkel for half an hour.
We continue our way towards Akumal, an ecological center that means in the Mayan dialect "Place of Turtles." Here the guide will take us through the area explaining the characteristics of this ecosystem and once on the beach we will go to a special area in the coves where a large number of turtles are concentrated.
At the end we return to the hotel so you can enjoy the rest of your day.
