Description of Whale Shark and Reef Snorkeling Tour
Can´t miss one of the most famous trips in Riviera Maya, which consists on a special snorkel tour where our objective is searching for whale sharks in order to swim next to it and get a close look at. This journey is seasonal, so it depends on the time this marine specie takes to migrate. That time is among 15th of May and 15th of September, because they´re used to migrate in Summer.The trip starts when we take transport to gather you at the hotel. After that, our next destination is the docks of Punta Sam, where we take a boat to ride in it. During the route in the boat, we take with ourselves some snacks and more food, like sandwiches. We mustn´t bring main food with us because we are swimming with whale sharks.
Once we´ve located the groups of whale sharks, then we can start the activity. We summerge into water in pairs and a skilled instructor will accompany us all the time. If we pay attention to the instructions given by the skilled guides, then we can swim close to those animals. We guarantee snorkelling with whale sharks is not dangerous at all because those animals are quite friendly and peacefull, they just feed on plankton, squids, sea algae and crustaceans. Actually, you´ll be really impressed by their enormous size.
