Horseback riding in Chamula and hike in Zinacantán 7 hr

Discover corners and secrets of two communities in the beautiful state of Chiapas with this 7-hour tour where we will take you on a horse ride through San Juan Chamula and a walk through Zinacantán. You will be able to know and discover the history and traditions of these two places from the hands of our specialized guides. A perfect tour to enjoy with family, friends or as a couple.

We leave from San Cristobal de las Casas, the appointment is at your hotel at 9:00 am to head to the stables where you will meet your travel companion, your horse. We will go through pine forests and cornfields until we reach the community of San Juan Chamula, we will be here for an hour and a half to get to know and discover this Tzotzil community and visit its Church. Our guide will tell you about their religion, traditions, shamanism and the Mayan cosmogony. A very interesting explanation to understand the customs of this community.

From here we will depart with a walk of approximately 2 hours to the town of Zinacantán , arriving at the place we will visit the house of a local family where we will learn about the work that Zinacanteco women do with the backstrap loom, with embroidery and his work with traditional cuisine, will give us a taste of the typical local drink called pox and a delicious meal party ritual, this will allow you to live with the family and learn more about their customs. We will continue the tour visiting the chapel of the authorities and the town church.

We recommend that you wear clothing appropriate to the climate of the region, comfortable shoes for long walks, a cap or hat, a light backpack, water, ecological mosquito repellent and of course ... your camera!
