Guided tour of Chichen-itzá ruins 1 day

Would you like to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World? We take you on a tour to visit the wonderful Mayan ruins of Chichen-Itzá. In a 4 and a half hour tour you will be able to discover one of the most interesting and visited places of the Mayan culture due to the majesty of its constructions, mainly the pyramid of Kukulcán. We will also go to a cenote and visit the center of Valladolid.

The archaeological zone of Chichen-Itzá was named World Heritage in 1998 as it is one of the best preserved testimonies of the Mayan culture. It is located in the jungle and more than 100 km from the coast, which makes it even more interesting and mysterious. During our visit we will be able to observe the road that will take us to the Sacred Cenote, the House of the Nuns, the Caracol building which was an astronomical observatory, the ball game, the heads of the Serpent feathered in the pyramid of Kukulcán, among many other things.

The Kukulcán pyramid is the main building of Chichen-Itzá, this impressive temple allows us to know that the Mayans had knowledge of mathematics, astronomy, music and geometry. Its symmetry represents the famous Mayan calendar. At the same time it was the political, religious and cultural center of the Mayan empire.

From there we will leave to have a delicious lunch and then visit a cenote where we can cool off. We will head towards Valladolid and on the way we will be able to see its 7 churches, the convent and the zócalo. Finally we will make our way back to Playa del Carmen.
