Tour to Mayan Ruins Ek Balam, Cenote and Grotto 1 day

We have prepared a day tour to the impressive Ek Balam Mayan Ruins and we will also visit a beautiful cenote and some caves. You will discover that the Riviera Maya has a lot to offer besides its beautiful white sand and turquoise blue beaches.

Get ready to live a day of adventure with us. We will start our tour in the Ek Balam Mayan Ruins located in the middle of the jungle, a cultural excursion that will allow you to get to know the ancient Mayan culture in depth. Ek Balam means "Lucero Jaguar" or "Black Jaguar" and many of its well-preserved ruins have been located, today we can see facades, murals and glyphic texts in very good condition.

Ek Balam is a walled enclosure where we can contemplate the beauty of its temples, squares, palaces, altars, a sweat lodge, stelae, and shrines. Without a doubt, one of the best archaeological sites that you can visit. We can also listen to an explanation about melipona honey, created by Mayan bees and highly valued by locals.

Then we will go to one of the most beautiful cenotes in the area, here we can cool off and admire the impressive stalactites that are reflected in its crystalline waters and before going to our point At the end of the tour, we will stop in a Mayan town called Nuevo Durango to have a homemade lunch at the home of our friend Chucho who will welcome us together with his family.

Finally, we will visit some dry caves, to get to them we will need to take a 2 km route through the jungle on a mountain bike. Upon arrival at the caves you can admire cave paintings, vessels, prehistoric walls and rooms with thousands of stalactites and stalagmites. A place that is very much worth exploring.
