Sima de las Cotorras Ecotourism we are a company that offers various extreme activities carried out deep in nature, located in the beautiful state of Chiapas.

All our activities are carried out in the depression of the Sima de las Cotorras within “El Ocote” an ecotourism center.

You will be able to rappel descending from the top of the chasm at 140 meters and on your descent you will be able to observe different cave paintings that are located in the most important points of the area.

You will have the support of our professionals at all times, so that when you arrive on land you can enjoy the impressive cave with 70 meters depth which has incredible water formations, which will impact you.

But if the cave paintings caught your attention during the descent, you can return to them to see them more closely through our perimeter walk tour at 30 meters high, where you will explore various rocky paths, which They will test your physical abilities.

Although if climbing is your thing, you can also do the activity with us on the rock formations of the chasm where you will descend from extremely steep walls where you will awaken all your senses.

But if your thing is to explore new places and above all enjoy nature to the fullest, this tour is for you, because you will travel for 20 minutes along the exciting paths surrounded by cave paintings, as well as that you can enjoy the diversity of flora and fauna belonging to the place.

A rappel unique in all of Mexico, with Sima de las Cotorras Ecotourism since it is a free fall rappel of up to 100 meters in the void . The Sima is a perfect natural setting to practice this type of descent surrounded by mountain walls, the most exuberant nature and even remains of other cultures reflected in cave paintings. p>

From the peak to the bottom of the Chasm there are about 140 meters high. Our challenge is to overcome the fear and vertigo caused by the height and let you go down by the rope. If you are a fan of sport climbing, bring with you your special shoes, climbing shoes, and magnesia, with this you are ready to carry out our rock climbing activity directed by guides specialized in mountaineering.

The activity has an average duration of 3 hours. We only accept up to 6 climbers per day, ascending a climb one by one to preserve the scenery as best as possible and not cause an impact on the rock.

Since the pre-Hispanic settlers of this region, there are traces in the area of ascents and descents on foot along its steep, almost vertical walls. You can climb these walls that many athletes from around the world have wanted to climb. Dare!

Sima de las Cotorras Ecotourism as an agency that organizes the sports and tourist activities of the park, we offer you 2 walking excursions so that those who come as a family, with children and older adults, can enjoy a little of the adrenaline that comes with going down the inner hole of the Sima.

Our hiking excursions are:

- Descent on foot through the interior on a perimeter route: This is a safer walk than it seems. We are going to take mountain equipment to go down the basement step by step following a life line to which we are attached, always with a helmet and directed by an expert mountaineering guide. This is a walk suitable for people of all ages. We will reach only 30 meters from the bottom of the SIMA.

- Walk to the Sima El Mujú: 20-minute walk along a mountain route in a jungle ecosystem. We can practice interpretive hiking getting to know the flora and fauna of the region. Bird watching lovers can ask for the help of a specialized guide.
